There are three penis enlargement methods that work and four that you should never try

There are products on the market that claim to increase penis size.

The average length of the penis is 9 cm

Penis size is a sensitive topic, and some estimates suggest 30% of men are dissatisfied with their own. Because of this, you may feel uncomfortable and need some method of penis enlargement.

As a reference, a 2014 study of more than 15, 000 men found that the average penis length was 9 cm and the average erection penis length was 13 cm.

There are products on the market that claim to increase penis size. While some may do what they claim, others are dangerous and should be avoided.

Effective methods to enlarge the penis

While these methods may not permanently change the size of the penis, they can temporarily help, or at least create the illusion of a larger penis.

  1. Pumps

Vacuum pumps can help increase the amount of blood filling the penis during an erection, says Jessica Yih, M. D. , a urologist specializing in male sexual health at the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University. This can help increase the size of your erection temporarily.

According to Yih, pumps are usually used in conjunction with a penis ring. Penis rings are placed at the base of the penis to keep the blood in the penis longer during the erection. The pumps do not permanently enlarge your penis.

  2. Pills

If you have erectile dysfunction, medications can help. They do not increase the size of the penis, but they can promote blood flow in the penis, which can lead to a bigger and harder erection if you find it difficult at all. This is because these drugs contain a chemical called a type 5 phosphodiesterase inhibitor, says Yih, which relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow. These medicines should be prescribed by a doctor.

  3. Aesthetic changes

There are a few more changes you can make to enlarge your penis. "One simple solution is to cut the pubic hair, " says Judson Brandeis, MD, a private urologist. In addition, if you are overweight, losing weight can also increase your penis. "If there is significant fat in the lower abdomen, also called the suprapubic fat pad, it covers part of the penis, making it appear shorter. Weight loss can help open your penis and regain its length, " says Yih.

Ways to avoid penis enlargement

Some augmentation methods are a waste of time and are simply ineffective. Other methods involve the risk of infection or unintended consequences.

  1. Lotions

While body lotions and creams for penis enlargement are available on the market, no scientific study has shown their effectiveness. Yih adds that these products are not FDA approved. For both reasons, you should refrain from penis enlargement creams.

  2. Stretch marks

Brandeis says there is a stretching technique called jelqing that manually stretches the penis, but says there is no scientific evidence for its effectiveness. "Pulling out the penis loosens the straps and allows the penis to sink lower when relaxed, but the penis itself is unlikely to lengthen, " Brandeis says.

  3. Medicines for injection

According to Brandeis, fillers or emulsified fat can be injected into the penis to increase the circumference but not the length. However, this only takes about two years and can cause penile unevenness as the penis acorn is not affected. In addition, there is a risk of infection. Overall, this is not ideal.

In addition, Yih said that if the fillers are silicone, it can cause severe inflammation and scar tissue formation, which may require corrective surgery.

  4. Penis implants

Another option is an implant. Brandeis says it’s a taco-shaped piece of silicone that fits inside the penis. The implant can increase the circumference and length of the flaccid penis by an inch or two, but the results may vary and there is a risk of infection.

This procedure is not for everyone. "Many patients say it's unnatural. If a man is removed, it's a disaster. The scar tissue is bad, the size of the penis is shorter, and the erection isn't even normal, " Brandeis says. He strongly rejects this operation.
